Macaroni Review - Gerber Cereal

August 30, 2015
As parents, we want to select foods that contain the most nutrients for our children.  We want to feel comfortable that we are selecting the best, especially for breakfast, as it is the most important meal of the day.  Gerber Cereal has come to be our selected breakfast for our children during these important years.

As we know, babies are ready for solid foods at approximately 6 months old.  Along with breast milk and/or infant formula, babies need solid foods that contain nutrients that meet their needs.  Gerber Cereals are ideal for the first solid foods as it is designed to capture the nutrition gaps that occur the first year of the baby's life.  Feeding Gerber Cereal two times per day allow the child to have their key vitamin and mineral needs met.

Iron is another essential need of our babies.  Iron is vital to allow for brain growth and overall development.  The iron a baby is born with, depletes at age 6 months which then needs to be replenished.  Gerber Cereals can help replenish that iron, two servings a day of Gerber Cereals allows for 90% of an infant's daily iron needs.  Gerber Cereal is amazing, at the #1 source of iron.

Gerber Cereal can be mixed with breast milk or formula as a baby starts to discover their solid foods.  The grain cereals are made from natural grains that allow smooth transition to solid foods, then thicker textures as the baby grows.  When the baby is ready, you can also add pureed fruits and vegetables.  Have some fun with Gerber Cereals!

My son loves Gerber Cereal!!  He has been a fan since the early days of introducing him to the rice cereal.  Now as we have moved through the Gerber Cereals according to his milestones, his favorite is the Healthy Bits and Lil Bits.  He loves the texture and the fact that he can feed himself (or attempt to).  We love to add some additional strawberries to the cereal to make it just right for him.  Gerber Cereal makes this Mama feel secure that we are feeding him just what we need to, to meet his nutritional needs!
