We at Modesto Sound is happy to announce the 2026 Modesto Sound Youth Songwriter Competition, this is an exciting opportunity for young musicians to showcase their original music and gain live performance experience.
The competition is open to youth bands and solo artists ages 18 and under. Modesto Sound is now accepting original song submissions, with a submission deadline of February 28, 2026.
The Winner of the competition will receive:
- A $50.00 Queen Bean Coffee House gift card
- A featured 5-song performance set at the Queen Bean Coffee House Open Mic on March 15, 2026
The Youth Songwriter Competition reflects our ongoing mission to support music education, recording, and live sound opportunities for young artists in the community. By spotlighting original music and providing a live performance platform, we aim to encourage creativity and confidence in the next generation of artists.

Modesto Sound Live is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit recording studio and creative media organization dedicated to empowering youth through music, sound, and artistic media. Based in the Central Valley, Modesto Sound Live provides real-world job training, recording opportunities, live sound experience, and community programs that help young people build skills, confidence, and meaningful connections. Their impact includes hundreds of recorded artists, live concerts, radio shows, and youth-focused programs that strengthen our local arts and music community.
