Welcome to our monthly spotlight on DonorsChoose.org, where we come together to support the incredible educators in our community. As many of you know, DonorsChoose.org is a fantastic resource that empowers teachers to secure funding for projects and supplies that make their classrooms more enriching and effective.
This month, I’m excited to continue our tradition of randomly selecting teachers to support. It’s such a joy to give back to those who give so much to our children. Whether you can share this article or make a donation, every little bit helps and makes a big difference.
Here are the amazing teachers we’re highlighting this week:
1. Mrs. Borja Grades 6-8 Elizabeth Ustach Middle School
My goal with the help of donors is to provide students with physical activity that they will enjoy and ones that they can also learn more about. The activities chosen include ones that involve flexibility in numbers and location (indoor/outdoor play). Students are able to choose among activities that can be played individually, in pairs, or in small groups/teams.
2. Ms. Jaques’ Classroom Prek Franklin Elementary School
My students come from homes that may not be able to afford to send them to school with a snack. With this project I am hoping to provide my students with snacks and water to keep them fueled for all of our learning. The wipes are a quick and easy way to wipe messy fingers and mouths from their snacks. Additionally, the hand sanitizer is a quick and easy way to prep their hands before eating. There are over 3 hours between our very early lunch and our last recess and I would love to be able to provide a snack to my kiddos.
3. Ms. Moore’s ClassroomGreat Valley Academy Modesto
Hello, we are starting a new art program and we need supplies. We can’t make art without supplies. It takes a lot to start a new art program. Time and money. It takes a village to supply a program like this. We appreciate any help we can get to fund new brushes and paints for our program. This will impact 170 students in the Modesto area.
4. Mrs. Gregersen’s Classroom Johansen High School
Having a sensory/calming area would be so beneficial to my students learning and self regulation. It can also help minimize any distractions or disruptions to instruction time by not having to leave the classroom. It can also maximize self advocacy by having the student identify and recognize the need for a break.
5. Mrs. Duran’s Classroom Great Valley Academy Salida Modesto, CA
Help us to provide our littlest of students with some fun outdoor building materials!
The goal is for our students to have opportunities for both fine and gross motor play while outside.
Every donation, whether large or small, and even just a share, supports these local teachers. Be sure to let them know you discovered them through Macaroni KID Modesto.
